Indoor Rock Climbing
Brevard Rock Gym is a homegrown rock climbing gym. From bouldering to top roping, physical training to working on technical climbing systems, we are confident that Brevard Rock Gym is a place worth spending time for you, your family or group. Our rock climbing walls vary in angle and always have lots of routes, varying in difficulty, to meet everyone’s skill level. For NC rock climbing, we are “THE” place to train. Climbing gyms, like towns, often produce a certain type of person, or in this case a certain type of climber. BRG is known for producing strong and powerful climbers. You’ll always meet a smiling face at the counter and someone who gives you good beta for surrounding NC rock climbing areas. We pride ourselves in our hometown feel, professionalism, and intimate knowledge of rock climbing and the surrounding NC areas.
Climbing Team
Our rock climbing team started in 2006 with a mix of local rock climbers. Since then our program has continued to grown and in the Spring 2011 season we worked with over 40 kids from Brevard, Hendersonville, and other surrounding areas. We have shorter session lengths for our Junior Climbing Team and full seasons for our Competitive Team. Our kids learn the basics of rock climbing technique, movement, and how to think analytically about solving a given problem, problem being a route in rock climbing. More importantly perhaps, our climbers get great physical activity in, build relationships, and learn how attitude and mental approach can positively effect their climbing and the rest of their life. Outdoor Guided Trips
In NC guided rock climbing, you will be hard pressed to find a more family friendly rock climbing guide service. There are lots of climbing guide services to choose from in the Brevard area and each have their niche and strengths. Most of those climbing guide services are run by our close friends. BRG Mountain Guides prides ourself on the combination of our professionalism, friendliness, and intimate knowledge of NC rock climbing. We have helped climbers prep for climbing the Grand Tetons and taken families on their first rock climbing trip. We also teach a variety of climbing instruction courses from how to place gear, anchors classes, multi-pitch climbing 101, and beyond. We are confident we can design a custom trip to meet your needs. Birthday Parties
Birthday’s are ment to be memorable and a rock climbing birthday party is not easily forgotten. Since we opened the gym in 2004, Brevard Rock Gym has been one of Brevard and the surrounding area’s best places to have birthday party. Our staff have years of experience working with kids of all ages and playing games and teaching at an age appropriate level. Rock Climbing Camp- (School of Rock Day Camp)
North Carolina rock climbing’s longest running climbing day camp, School of Rock has been teaching rock climbing since 2005. With programs for ages 4 to 18, our climbing camp is top notch. Our staff have been working with kids of all ages for years and you’ll be hard pressed to find a more family friendly place with such intimate and professional knowledge of NC rock climbing and how to help kids enjoy it. Our rock climbing camp teaches a variety of skills, but more than that our climber have a ton of fun and always seem to leave camp witha little more confidence and even coordination.
